Withdraw Student

Go to Synergy SIS > Student > Student

 

  1. To withdraw a student who has attended the school, navigate to Student > Student.

  2. Check to make sure the current focus is set to the school and year in which the student is enrolled. The focus is indicated in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

3. Find the student’s record. Only active students can be withdrawn. An active student’s name displays without parentheses surrounding their name. 

4. Click Menu at the top of the screen and select Inactivate Student. The Inactivate Student screen opens in a separate window. 

 

5. The Leave Date, Leave Code, and Next Year Enrollment are mandatory on this screen.

6. Enter the Leave date in MMDDYY format or select the calendar icon

7. Select the Leave Code. If used, select the Withdrawal Reason Code

 

8. If Drop Classes On Inactivation is checked, a Leave Date is entered for all active sections on the Classes tab. The Leave Date entered is the same as the Leave Date entered for the withdrawal. Otherwise, classes are left active.

 

9. Decide what Next Year Enrollment Action should be taken. The choices are Delete Enrollment, Do Nothing, or No Show

10. If withdrawing them from the new school year, enter the Summer Withdrawal Code and Summer Withdrawal Date, MMDDYY format or click and select date. 

11. Click Inactivate at the top of the screen to inactivate the student or click Cancel to cancel the operation and close the screen. 

 

The student is withdrawn and marked as Inactive as noted by parentheses around the student’s name.
