Searching for Contacts

Do NOT press the DND button on your phone - it will send all calls to VM and silence the handsets

This guide will show users how to search for contacts both manually and by name so they can quickly be used / references for future dialing.

Instructions

Manually Viewing Contacts

  1. On the Home Screen of the phone, press the Contact button to open the contacts on the phone

  2. Use the OK hardkey button to show All Contacts

    1. All entries will be sorted by alphabetical order from top to bottom

  3. Use the Arrow Keys to scroll up and down to select a number to dial

  4. Press the Dial softkey once hovering over a contact ready to call

    1. TOUCH SCREEN PHONES: Use your finger to touch the respective options to dial a number

Searching by Name

Standard Phones (X4U)

  1. Press the Contact softkey followed by the Search softkey

    1. This will bring you to a blank screen with the ability to type in names / numbers to search for

To ONLY type letters or numbers, press the softkey button shown as 2aB on the screen - this will let you search by the following:

  • Lower case letters

  • Upper case letters

  • Numbers

  • Both (default)

Touch Screen Phones (X7U, large display)

  1. Using your finger, tap the Contact button on the screen to open Contacts

  2. Then tap Local Contacts

  3. Then tap All Contacts

  4. To call a number listed, simply tap on it

5. To Search for a user by name, tap the Search button

6. You may then begin using the same method of typing as is on the normal (smaller desk phones) use
