Joining the New Wireless Network - SCASD-Secure

Computer Services has recently transitioned to a more secure and robust wireless network. The wireless network named ‘SCASD’ will eventually be replaced by a network named ‘SCASD-Secure’

This document will guide you through the process of transitioning to the ‘SCASD-Secure’ wireless network once it becomes available to you.

Instructions

  1. Once Computer Services has created your ‘SCASD-Secure’ network username, you will receive an email from Extreme Networks with the subject ‘[EXTERNAL] Login Credentials' - an example is below

Do not delete this email, as it contains your specific user password/access key.

It is a legitimate email sent by the district and is not spam or malware.

2. Click on the wireless icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to select your wireless network

3. On the drop-down box that appears, click ‘SCASD-Secure’

4. When you are prompted for a password, enter the ‘Access Key’ from the Login Credentials email you received earlier

5. Verify you are now connected to the ‘SCASD-Secure’ wireless network by clicking on the wireless icon in the upper right-hand corner, and ensuring there is a checkmark or blue circle next to ‘SCASD-Secure’

You will only need to enter your access key/password one time on each device you use
