This guide will provide basic information for Students/Families that are new to using a Chromebook
Lenovo 300e and 500e (USB-C)
Charging the Device
The power cord is 2 seperate pieces. Make sure the cord is securely connected to the brick.
Models that use the USB-C Charger shown below can be charged on either the left or right side of the device.
When plugged into the left side successfully, the light next to the port will turn on to indicate charging.
Turning on the Device
When the device is opened, it should turn on automatically. If not, you can press the power button on the right side of the device, and the screen should light up and go to the login screen.

Charging the Devices

Models that use the the Slim Tip charger shown below have a single charging port on the left side of the device.
When plugged in successfully, the light next to the port will turn on to indicate charging.
Turning on the Device
When the device is opened, it should turn on automatically. If not, you can press the power button on the top-right corner of the keyboard, and the screen should light up and go to the login screen.
Cleaning Tips
You can clean the outside and keyboard of the device with a Lysol wipe, then dry it with a dry cloth, as too much moisture can damage the inside of the device.
To clean the screen, spray a cloth with a small amount of Windex and wipe down the screen, then dry it with a dry cloth, as too much moisture can damage the inside of the device.
Logging in to Chromebook
Grades K-2
When the device turns on, it will prompt the student to login with Clever. On this window, click Next
Then it will bring up the camera, and prompt for the Clever Badge which is a QR code that should have been provided with the device.
Hold it up to the camera as shown below, and it should ding and then take you to the desktop.
Grades 3-12
On the "Sign in to your Chromebook" screen, enter the SCASD Email address, and press next. Then, enter the password for the account, and it should take you to the desktop.
