How to record in QuickTime

Recording in QuickTime

Ensure the document camera is connected to your computer with a USB cable.  The cable will connect the port labeled USB-B on the document camera to a USB port on your computer

  1. Open QuickTime from Finder > Applications

  2. When QuickTime is open (it will NOT show that’s its open, make sure in the top-left it shows QuickTime Player

    1. New Screen Recording: This records your screen and your voice so you can narrate a presentation.

      New Movie Recording: This is a face recording using the camera in your computer.

      New Audio Recording: This is a voice recording with no visual elements. 

  3. Checking the audio source

  4. To start recording, click the red record button and then take one of these actions:

    • Click anywhere on the screen to begin recording the entire screen.

    • Drag to select an area to record, then click Start Recording within that area.

    To stop recording click the black stop button in the menu bar, or press Command-Control-Esc (Escape).

    After you stop recording, Quicktime Player automatically opens the recording. You can now play, edit, or share the recording.
