Student audio is very loud or full of static quiet when they speak during Google Meet sessions. |
Solution
Chromebooks allow you to increase adjust microphone sensitivity which can cause a student's audio to become loud and full of static or very quiet. A student might accidentally increase the adjust their microphone sensitivity, so it will need to be turned back down.
Step 1
Open settings by clicking on the system tray (bottom right)
Step 2
Open sound settings by clicking on the circle icon with the arrow pointing to the right
Step 3
Adjust the slider bar under 'Microphone (internal)’ to adjust the microphone sensitivity. The middle point is the default and recommended level
