Powerschool - Act 158 Pathways

There are a total of 5 pathways under the Act 158 requirements. The details for each pathway are below.

 Pathway 1 - Keystone Proficiency

There are 3 requirements for pathway 1.

  1. Score equal to or greater than 1500 on the Biology Keystone exam.

  2. Score equal to or greater than 1500 on the Algebra Keystone exam.

  3. Score equal to or greater than 1500 on the Literature Keystone exam.

 Pathway 2 - Keystone Composite

There are 3 requirements for pathway 2.

  1. A score of 1500 or greater on at least 1 of the Keystone exams.

  2. No keystone score is in the Below Basic range. These values differ based on category.

  3. A score of 4452 or greater for the Keystone Exam Composite

 Pathway 3 - CTE Concentrator

Pathway 3 requires that a student must earn a passing grade on the courses associated with each Keystone exam and attain an industry-based competency certification related to the program or study.

To utilize this pathway the CTE concentrator, a counselor or the CTC department, will just need to add an approved industry program or certification to the student under the Postsecondary Readiness --> Academic and Career Plan Screen.

 Pathway 4 - Alternative Assessment

There are 3 requirements for pathway 4.

  1. A score of 21 or greater on at the ACT.

  2. A score of 1010 or greater on the SAT.

  3. A score of 970 or greater on the PSAT/NMSQT.

 Pathway 5 - Evidence or Waiver

In select circumstances, a chief school administrator may choose to waive pathway-specific requirements.

For this pathway, this requires manual intervention by the counseling team. To add these waivers for Act 158. a counselor must select this pathway from the Post-Secondary Readiness --> Graduation Plan Progress → Act 158 screen. Then select Add Waiver.

The student then becomes eligible for graduation once the waiver is added.
