MNMS Auditorium - How to use the Quick Setup Mode

This article will assist users in connecting their laptops to, and using the new auditorium controls for the Mount Nittany Middle School Auditorium. This will only control the A/V (video / audio), not the stage lighting system.

In quick setup mode, once the A/V system is unlocked, the projector screen will automatically deploy from the stage ceiling. The screen can be raised and lowered if and when you need it for your event.

 Instructions

The step by step guide below will assist you in projecting:

  1. Tap the LCD screen located on the right side of the stage skirting near the right side stairs. Alternatively , you can use the same screen located in the booth. Both screens are mirrors of each other and can control the system.

  2. You will need to unlock the system using a code. If the IT building technician is not available for the event (rarely happens), you can get the code from your building technician by emailing them or reaching out in person. Additionally, you can contact our helpdesk for assistance. For IT technicians, the code can be found in our password management system.

  3. Once unlocked, the screen will display starting up, and begin lowering the screen, and turn the projector on. This step can take 1-2 minutes. PLEASE be patient during this step.

  4. Once startup is complete The following screen will be displayed:

    From this screen you can control the Audio settings for the microphones and sound.
    - Mute the microphone by pressing the icon below the down arrow. Press it again to unmute it.
    - Adjust the volume of the mic by taping the up or down arrow, or by pressing and holding the slide bar to the desired level.
    - Additionally, you can see the battery level of the mics
    - Lastly, you adjust the video sound output by aping the up or down arrow, or by pressing and holding the slide bar to the desired level under HDMI Audio

  5. To change the Video options, tap once on Video Control

  6. The following will be displayed:

    - From this screen, you can control the video output.
    - You can turn the projector off if you do not need it
    - You can change the video input from the apron, to the booth or back. Depending on where you want to present from
    - You can raise or lower the screen
    - Lastly you can choose to shutter the projector. That will turn the image off on the screen, but the projector is on and live. As if putting a shutter in front of the lense.

  7. Changing the Audio Output on your macbook:
    - In the upper right hand corner of your screen, click on the icon.
    - Click on the arrow in the sound section:

    - Select “Generic_4K”

     

  8. Additionally, you can adjust the Gain if needed. (Do not do this unless a building technician or A/V support technician is present.

    The following will display where you can change the gain of each of the quick setups:

  • To exit Adjust Gain, tap on Audio Control or Video Control

  1. Shutting down the system: Tap “Shutdown” in the lower right hand corner of the screen:

    • Tap the “Green Check mark” on the next screen:

    • This will take a couple of minutes to completely turn the system off. The process will turn off the projector, raise the screen, and lock the system for the next event

  1. To enter Performance mode: ( ONLY do this if an A/V Support Technician is physically on site)

  2. Tap on the “Enter Performance Mode” button

  3. The following will display on the screen:

    This will transfer controls of the audio system to the mixing boards in the booth.

Highlight important information in a panel like this one. To edit this panel's color or style, select one of the options in the menu.
