Opening/Activating Microsoft Office 365 Apps (MacOS)

This article explains how to open and activate Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) via the Mosyle Manager application.

Opening/Activating Microsoft Office 365 Application(s)

After the installation is complete you will need to follow the instructions below for ONE Microsoft application, you should not need to repeat it when you open the other Microsoft applications

Instructions

  1. Open a Finder window, navigate to Applications and double-click the any of the newly installed Microsoft applications

    Finder > Applications > Double-Click to Open Selected Application
  1. The first time that you open the application, you will be asked to sign-in to your Microsoft Account. Click on the sign-in button and enter your SCASD userID and password

If you are prompted to enter a Recovery Phone number you can click Skip instead

You can sign-in using either one of the buttons, indicated by the arrows.
Type in your full SCASD email (ie. abc12@scasd.org), click the blue “Next” button and then enter your SCASD email password on the following screen.

While signing in, you may be prompted to add additional information. This step can be skipped by clicking Next and then clicking Skip Setup.

Click “Skip setup” in the bottom right hand corner
  1. Once you sign in, you will now have access to use Microsoft Office 365 applications

    If you have successfully signed into the product, your name will appear at the top left of the application window
  2. If the application does not prompt you for sign in. Click on the top left where it says the application name (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)

  3. Click Update License > Sign In

If you are prompted to enter a Recovery Phone number you can click Skip instead

  1. Choose Work or School Account > Enter you SCASD Password

  2. If installed and activated correctly you will see will see Success! message

Installing Microsoft Office 365 Application(s)

Microsoft Office 365 should auto install from Mosyle. If it does not, use the guide below to install from the Mosyle Kiosk

Instructions

  1. Open a Finder window, navigate to Applications and double-click the Manager application to open Mosyle Manager

    Finder > Applications > Double-Click to Open Selected Application
  2. On the left side of the Manager window, select “My Apps”. You will be able to find the new Office 365 application installers stored here (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Finder > Applications > Manager > Select “My Apps”
  3. For any of the applications you wish to download, click on the “Install” button located under the desired application

  1. You will receive a pop-up within the window, indicating the command was sent to your device. The download and installation will begin momentarily

Application installation complete. The button will now say “Reinstall”
