Sharing Titles in SWANK

 Instructions

Sharing/Assigning Movies

There are two links available for sharing movies, both of which are found on the title preview page and watch page for a licensed movie under the “Share” button:

  1. Direct Link
Direct Links are the full URL to the film which enable access via any sharing option, such as email, course syllabus, and Learning Management Systems.
    Example: https://digitalcampus.swankmp.net/digcampusdemo/watch/4AEDF297E5C342CF?referrer=direct

  2. LMS Link
LMS (Learning Management System) Links are intended to be placed in Learning Management Systems that accept HTML, such as Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle and many others.
Here's how direct links appear embedded on a website: Watch Do the Right Thing
LMS links should not be used for Google Classroom or Schoology as neither accept HTML

Share Content Links

It is important to note that students do not have the ability to see the entire library of movies as teachers/instructors. Students will only see titles they have been assigned by providing them with a Direct Link or LMS link. Providing students the main page navigation URL will result in an error message.

  1. Search or click on any title, and the title preview pane appears at the bottom of the page

  2. On the Title Preview window, click Share

  3. Select Copy Direct Link to share the link via email, syllabus, etc. or Copy LMS Link to paste the link into your organizations learning management system

  4. The link is copied and may be pasted into another program

  5. If you log in to the streaming platform via the Swank K12 Streaming page, as opposed to your school/district log in page, you will need to provide students with their username and password along with the movie link you are providing them. If you do not know the username and password set up for your students, please contact your school’s Swank K12 Streaming Administrator.

Assigning Movie Segments

When you share a watch link with your students, they will be provided with the entire movie. However, if there are specific parts of the movie that you would like them to focus on, use the seek bar at the bottom of the play screen to identify the specific time stamps within the movie you’d like them to view. Along with the movie link and potentially their log in information, also include these time stamps to students.
