Accessing Elementary Progress Reports in PowerSchool
This article provides step-by-step instructions for SCASD elementary parents on how to access and understand their child’s Elementary Progress Report through the PowerSchool Parent Portal, including grading scale definitions and tips for navigating the report view.

🔐 Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal at scasd.powerschool.com/public using your parent account credentials.
Select Student from the top menu bar
From the left-hand menu, click on Grades and Attendance.
Select the Standards Grade tab to view your child’s Elementary Progress Report.
📝 Understanding the Report View
Grade Labels: Click on any grade label to open a fly-out window with a description of that grade.
Comments: If a teacher has added a comment for a subject, a speech bubble icon will appear next to the grade. Click it to view the comment.
📊 Elementary Grading Scale
Label | Definition | Description |
|---|---|---|
EX | Excelling | Student performance excels within grade level standards. Student consistently demonstrates the ability to independently apply the concepts and skills emphasized during this trimester. |
MT | Meeting | Student performance meets grade level standards. Student is able to work independently to demonstrate the concepts and skills emphasized during this trimester. |
PR | Progressing | Student performance is approaching grade level standards. With support, the student is developing an understanding of the concepts and skills emphasized during this trimester. |
EM | Emerging | Student performance does not yet meet grade level standards. Student understanding of the concepts and skills emphasized during this trimester is limited. |
NA | Not Assessed | This skill is not assessed during the current trimester. |
AG | Alternate Goals | Student performance assessed based on individual goals. |
R | Regularly | STAR Behavior Rating |
D | Developing | STAR Behavior Rating |
N | Not Yet | STAR Behavior Rating |
