Accessing PowerSchool SIS Admin & Student Search Guide

PowerSchool SIS Admin is the central hub for managing student information. This guide walks you through accessing it via ClassLink and using powerful search tools to find student records efficiently.


🚪 Accessing PowerSchool SIS Admin via ClassLink

  1. Go to launchpad.classlink.com/scasd

  2. Log in using your SCASD credentials

  3. Click the PowerSchool SIS Admin icon to launch the platform

What Does the Question Mark Do?

In PowerSchool SIS, you’ll notice a question mark icon (?) located in the top toolbar of most pages.

Clicking this icon will take you directly to a PowerSchool Knowledge Base (KB) article that is specific to the page you’re currently viewing. These articles are designed to help you understand the features, functions, and options available on that page.

Whether you're viewing student data, managing attendance, or navigating schedules, the help icon provides targeted support without needing to search manually.

🧭 How to Use It

  1. Locate the question mark (?) icon in the top-right toolbar.

  2. Click the icon.

  3. A new tab will open with a KB article tailored to the current page.

  4. Read through the article for guidance, tips, and troubleshooting help.


🔍 Searching for Students in PowerSchool

🧭 Basic Searches

Use the quick links under the student search bar to find students by grade, gender, or enrollment status:

  • Click a grade number (e.g., 6) to view all active students in that grade

  • Click All to view all currently enrolled students

  • Click Gender to filter by male/female


👤 Search by Last Name or Student Number

You can search directly by:

  • Last Name → Type the name (e.g., Smith)

  • Student Number (SID/SIS ID) → Type the number (e.g., 123456)

No special commands needed—just type and go!


📂 View Field List

Want to search by specific student data fields?

  1. Click View Field List

  2. Browse or type to filter available fields

  3. Use field names in search commands (see below)
