How to Move Bookmarks from Chromebook (Chrome) to iPad (Safari)
If you're switching from a Chromebook to an iPad and want to keep your favorite websites, you can export your Chrome bookmarks and import them into Safari. This process uses Google Drive and the Files app on iPad.
๐ฅ๏ธ Step 1: Export Bookmarks from Chromebook
On your Chromebook, open the Chrome browser.
Click the three-dot menu (โฎ) in the top-right corner.
Go to Bookmarks โ Bookmark Manager.
In Bookmark Manager, click the three-dot menu again โ Export Bookmarks.
Save the file as an HTML file (e.g.,
bookmarks.html) to your Google Drive.
๐ฑ Step 2: Enable Google Drive in Files App on iPad
On your iPad, open the Files app.
Tap Browse at the bottom.
Tap the three-dot menu (โขโขโข) in the top-right โ Edit.
Toggle Google Drive to On.
Tap Done. You should now see Google Drive listed under Locations.
๐ Step 3: Import Bookmarks into Safari
Requires iPadOS 18.2 or later
Open the Settings app on your iPad.
Scroll down and tap Safari.
Tap Import Bookmarks.
Tap Choose File and navigate to your Google Drive folder via the Files app.
Select the
bookmarks.htmlfile and tap Import to Safari.
โ Your bookmarks will now appear in Safari under the Bookmarks tab.
