Special Programs - Common Problems when Printing Documents
Common Issues:
Text gets cut off the page.
Text shrinks on the document to fit long text boxes.
Additional page breaks are added that are not part of the document.
Text appears outside of the document which overlaps the toolbar at the top of the page.
Cause:
These printing issues in Special Programs are caused by text that was copied & pasted from other sources, such as Google Docs or Microsoft Word. When the text is copied & pasted from outside sources, it retains hidden formatting that overrides/negates the page margins that are built into Special Programs.
Fix:
Print each section individually until you find the page/section that is not printing correctly.
Highlight the text in each text box and click the “Remove Formatting From Selection” button. This must be done for ALL text boxes in the document (or until the faulty text box is found and formatting is removed).
Prevention:
To prevent these issues from happening, use “CMD + Shift + V” on MacOS, or “Ctrl + Shift + V” on Windows to paste text into Special Programs without formatting. Then, use the built-in formatting tools in Special Programs to format the text.
