Powerschool

Over the past few months, the district has been evaluating potential options for a student information system (SIS) as a replacement for the currently used Edupoint Synergy platform (Synergy). 

 

Unfortunately, since its adoption, the Synergy platform has failed to meet the evolving needs of the district, and many of you have been expressing frustration with the platform. These concerns include inaccurate state reporting, inability for data sharing to other platforms, scheduling issues, degraded performance and failure of basic platform functionality. 

 

We have vigorously tried to work through these concerns with the vendor with little to no success. As a result, we must recommend an alternative solution. In the coming months, we will be taking a proposal to the Board to switch to PowerSchool.

 

Our evaluation process that led to PowerSchool included multiple rounds of specialized demonstrations for various stakeholders, including teachers, secretaries, nurses, counselors, administrators, and parents. In the end, these stakeholders overwhelmingly supported transitioning to Powerschool.

 

Our Board proposal includes a full explanation of how we identified this solution.

 

Thank you to everyone who took part in and offered feedback during this process. Our hope is that this transition will bring welcome relief from the current frustrations. We recognize that this is another change in a short period of time, but please be assured that we will do everything we can to make this transition as seamless as possible.
