How to create and use assignment types in Synergy Gradebook

Assignment types in Synergy allow you to categorize your assignments into groups like “Homework”, “Classwork”, “Assessment”, etc. They will also allow you to weight grades if desired.

Instructions

1. Login to Synergy TeacherVUE and access “Gradebook Setup”

2. This will open a section for “Assignment Weighting” on this screen you will see the district’s pre-configured assignment types. Utilize the weight column if you want to use grade weighting instead of total points. If using weights, they must total 100%.

3. If you need to create an additional assignment type then those provided by the district, select “Assignment Types” from the upper right tabs.

    

4. On this screen, select “New” in the top right

    

5. This will create a row to create your new “Assignment Type.” Please enter the Name, Sequence (next number not in use 16,17,etc.), change the color if desired.

    

6. Once this information has been added, select “Insert” in the top right.
