How to troubleshoot a network issue

Problem

Experiencing network issues. Slow or non-existent internet.

Solution

MacBook

  1. Click the Network icon at the top right of the screen

  2. If the Wifi is off you can turn it back on from this menu

  3. Once the WiFi is on you can connect to SCASD by clicking on it SSID name


If a network issue is still present

  1. Restart the computer

  2. Contact SCASD IT Services with the Building, Room, SCASD# for the computer and attach a SpeedTest if possible
    speedtest.scasd.org

Windows

  1. Click the Network icon at the bottom right of the screen

  2. Once the WiFi is on you can connect to SCASD by clicking on it SSID name.

    1. Restart the computer.

    2. Contact SCASD IT Services with the Building, Room, SCASD# for the computer and attach a SpeedTest if possible. speedtest.scasd.org

Chromebook

  1. Click on the Bottom Right taskbar

     

  2. The status menu will appear and it will allow you to access the network settings

  3. From the network settings click the SCASD SSID name to join the network


If a network issue is still present

  1. Restart the computer.

  2. Contact SCASD IT Services with the Building, Room, SCASD# for the computer and attach a SpeedTest if possible. (speedtest.scasd.org)
