(Moved) How to add a home printer to a Chromebook

These steps will guide you on setting up your Chromebook to print from your home printer. 

Instructions

Step 1 - Opening Printing Settings

  1. Click the clock in the lower right corner then the gear to open Settings

Step 2 - Going to Printing

  1. In the settings window, click Advanced in the left column of options, then select Printing

 

Step 3 - Adding Printer

  1. Under Available printers to save, next to your printer, click save

 



Step 4 - Fix not auto-adding printer

If your printer can’t be save automatically do the following steps below

  1. Click setup next to the printer name

  2. In the box, choose your printer manufacturer and model (can be found on label on printer)

  3. Select Add

Step 5 - Add printer manually

  1. Complete Step 1 and 2 first

  2. Select Add Printer

  3. Enter your printer information

    1. Name: Any name you choose for your printer

    2. Address: Your printers IP address (typically can be found in the printer's network settings)

    3. Protocol: Most printers support IPP

    4. Queue: Most printers will be IPP/print

  4. Select Add

Step 6 - Connecting printer physically

  1. Complete Step and 2 first

  2. Select Advanced in the left column then select Printing

  3. Select 'Add Printer' 

    1. Select your printer's name and click Add
