Students wishing to use their own equipment on the SCASD network, this includes smartphones, tablets and laptops, must first fill out the “Bring Your Own Device” Student Registration.  Once completed, Parents/Guardians must approve the use of this device. 

Logging into StudentVue

  1. Student should login to StudentVue using their credentials

    1. Under the SCASD Links tab, select the “Bring Your Own Device” Student Register.

    Click the "Add New" button, located at the bottom of the page

    1. Clicking this will open a screen to enter the following information:

      1. Device type (Laptop, Phone, Tablet, etc.)

      2. Device Description (ex. Dell Chromebook, Sam's iPhone, iPad 4)

      3. Enter MAC Address (this is a 12 digit code which may include both numbers and letters)

      4. Click Submit

Note

Clicking submit will send an email to the Students Parents/Guardian to approve the use of this equipment.

Locating MAC Address

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences...

  2. In System Preferences, from the View menu, select Network

  3. Click the name of your connection (e.g., Wi-Fi, AirPort, Ethernet, Built-in Ethernet).

  4. Click Advanced..., and in the sheet that appears, click the Hardware, Ethernet, or AirPort tab.

The address is the string of letters and numbers next to MAC Address, Ethernet ID, or AirPort ID

  1. Select Settings app

  2. Select General

  3. Go to About

A Wi-Fi Address displays. This is your device’s MAC address.

  1. Click Start button or press the Windows key

  2. In the search box, type cmd

  3. Press Enter
    A command window displays.

  4. Type ipconfig /all

  5. Press Enter

A Physical Address displays for each adapter. The Physical Address is your device’s MAC address. You will be looking for the wireless adapters ethernet address.

  2. Select About Device

  3. Go to Status
